About Us
OSSAC is a partnership of the student organisations helping those who are homeless and in need in the city of Oxford.
We bring greater visibility to the work of Oxford's students in this area, signposting volunteers, supporters and those experiencing homelessness to the actions and services they’re looking for.
Our partnership has been established to help students better work together to support the city's homeless community. This involves directing resources to where they can be used most effectively and efficiently, as well as supporting the invaluable work of professional services in Oxford.
We currently have 3 student projects, Turl Street Homeless Action, Food Rescuers, and New College Curry runners.
We serve three main functions:
-
To bring hot drinks and food to those sleeping rough in central Oxford
-
To provide good company and being a caring listener for those facing a difficult situation, aiming to reduce loneliness and brighten someone’s evening a little!
-
To bridge the divide between students and the homeless community
